English translations of the early Church Fathers (3339 works, 61 authors), from the New Advent corpus. Arranged by series and volume, following the printed edition (as on CCEL): Ante-Nicene Fathers (1885–1887); Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, Series I (1886–1889) and Series II (1890–1900). Public domain; corpus CC-BY 4.0.
Each note carries written (approximate composition date) and earliest_ms (earliest surviving manuscript witness, including early translations and quotation traditions) properties, plus a #written/Nth-century tag. These are approximate, century-level scholarly estimates compiled for orientation — verify against current scholarship before citing. Composition dates for Commodianus, the Octavius, Moses of Chorene, and the Diatessaron’s Dura fragment are disputed; manuscript dates for several minor authors are educated estimates. Volume-heading date ranges cover core works only — items marked pseudonymous, legendary, spurious, disputed, or hagiographic are excluded (their dates still appear on the volume pages).
