Parker Society vol. 2 (1846), ed. J. E. Cox: Cranmer’s biographical notice, then two dozen discrete pieces - the Confutation of Unwritten Verities, the canon-law collection, speeches, catechetical and visitation material, the Institution of a Christian Man with his annotations, the Preface to the Bible, the Homilies of Salvation/Faith/Good Works, articles of inquiry and injunctions, the answer to the Devon rebels, notes on rebellion and on justification, the 1555 examination before Brokes and the appeal at his degradation - followed by his correspondence and a documentary appendix, ending with Cranmer’s submissions and recantations before his martyrdom and the volume’s general index. The letters (numbered I onward by Cox) and the appendix documents (numbered I-XLVI) are each individually headed in the source but are grouped here into notes of a few dozen thousand characters apiece, in their printed numerical order, so that no letter or document is split across notes; the recantations (misnumbered by the OCR at their own heading) are kept as their own note.
